Sports Desk – The match No. 31 of the ICC World Cup 2019 was played between Bangladesh and Afghanistan at The Rose Bowl, Southampton. This match Bangladesh won by 62 runs. Afghanistan won the toss and opt to bowl. Batting first, Bangladesh posted a competitive 262 for 7 in 50 overs riding on half-centuries from Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan.

In reply, Afghanistan put up a good fight but fell short by a convincing 62-run margin as Bangladesh bowlers’ combined efforts led them to their third victory of the showpiece event.

The 32-year-old dethroned Shakib Al Hasan from the spot with a total of 476 runs in 6 appearances. While Warner is second with 447 runs, the swashbuckling Aussie opener is closely followed by English batsman Joe Root, who has smashed 424 runs. India vice-captain Rohit Sharma is sixth with his tally of 320 runs in four games.
