Sports desk – The historic Test match between India and Bangladesh is being played at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. This test is being played with a pink ball. To make this Test memorable, the veterans of the Indian team also joined, who recalled some stories of the 2001 Test played between India and Australia. Sharing an anecdote, Sachin Tendulkar said, “When Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman were batting in that match, there was no movement in the dressing room.”

Let me tell you that after almost two decades, all these players were once again at the Eden Gardens, the historic ground of Kolkata. During this special lunch, the session was organized in which former players Laxman, Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh, and Sachin told their stories.

Let me tell you that the way VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid took India to the threshold of victory in the 2011 Test is remembered today. Recalling the anecdote, Sachin said he, along with then captain Sourav Ganguly and coach John Wright, decided that Laxman would bat at number three and Dravid at number six.

“He was in a good rhythm when both were batting, no one moved in the dressing room. We suddenly hoped that if Bhajji and Zaheer Khan can bowl well then we can win,” Sachin said. Laxman had scored 281 runs for 452 runs in that match. Dravid scored 180 runs off 353 balls. On the basis of these two, India had declared their innings for 657 runs at the loss of seven wickets, India defeated Australia by 171 runs in this match.
