Here we show you how Diego Simeone built his legacy with Atletico Madrid

Diego Simeone is one of the most loyal managers of all time, not to mention one of the most underrated ones as well. He has really helped Atletico Madrid to reach greater levels in terms of both reputation and gameplay.

According to The Sun, Simeone will no longer be the part of the club after 2022/23 season. He will leave the club at the end of the season

Joao Felix and Simeone’s relationship has not been well lately. His departure will allow the Portuguese to extend his contract by one more year at the club.

“We have differences, but I have always looked for the best for the club. To squeeze the maximum out of everyone until the last day that I am there or those who have to be there,” Simeone had said about Felix in December.

“(Felix) is important for the team. If he transmits to us what we saw in the World Cup, he will be very important. He has conditions and talent and the team needs his qualities,” he had added.

Things haven’t been perfect for Atletico lately and as they say: “You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become a villain.” Diego deserves the status of a hero in Atletico Madrid’s history books.

Pre Simeone era, Atletico was just an ordinary Spanish club, that didn’t have much of any ambitions.

But ever since Diego’s arrival at the club, he has converted Atletico into a proper club that has always given Real Madrid and Barcelona a tough time in La Liga.

Simeone is the only manager to win the La Liga twice in the last decade in the complete dominance of Real & Barca.

If this season is his end, then he deserves all the applauses and appreciation for transforming Atletico into a European giant.
