Georginio Wijnaldum could sign Barcelona this summer
The man who made impossible look so simple is close to sign the team he defeated in 2019. Georginio Wijnaldum is all set to sign Barcelona in this summer transfer window.
Bayern Munich is also trying to bring Liverpool midfielder on a free transfer this summer. Wijnaldum is also a target for four other unnamed clubs.
The 30 year old confirmed on Sunday that he will leave Liverpool at the end of his contract next month after five years at the club.
“I hoped to play many more years for the club but unfortunately things went different, and I think everyone knows in football that anything can happen but the situation right now is that on July 1 I’m not a Liverpool player anymore,” Wijnaldum told Sky Sports.
I would have loved to remain a Liverpool player for many more years, but unfortunately things went different. So I have to start a new adventure,” he said on his social media.
He won UEFA Champions League and Premier League in consecutive seasons during his 5 year spell at Anfield.
Wijnaldum has made 237 appearances for Liverpool since he joined from Newcastle in July 2016.
Virgil Van Dijk is still injured and will not be able to play in Euro 2020. So Wijnaldum will captain the Netherlands national team in VVD’s absence.
