Wayne Rooney (Full name – Wayne Mark Rooney) was born on 24 October 1985 in Liverpool. Rooney along with his two brothers – John Rooney and Graham Rooney used to live in Croxteth (eastern Liverpool).

He was emotionally attached to his hometown club – Everton, which he loved the most in his childhood. After a powerful hard work, he made his first club debut in 2002 at the age of 16.

At the age of 16, Rooney became the youngest goal scorer in the history of the Premier League while playing for Everton. In 2002, he won the BBC Sports Young Personality of the year award. In 2004, he moved to Manchester United for £26m which was the record transfer fee for any player under the age of 20 and where he was given the number eight shirt.

At the age of 17, he became the youngest player ever to play for the England national football team. Before him, James F.M Clapham was the youngest player to play for the same. Rooney is also the youngest England scorer ever.

In 2014, Rooney played his last FIFA World Cup (world cup) and scored his first goal world cup goal ever against Uruguay. At present, Rooney is the best player of Man United and England having the most goals scored at both levels (at club and at international level).
