When Cristiano Ronaldo Threw A Reporter's Mic Into The Lake

Cristiano Ronald once threw the mic of a reporter into the lake and this is why he did that

At Euro 2016, Cristiano Ronaldo made headlines when he threw a reporter’s microphone into a lake on the night of Portugal’s crucial Group F match against Hungary. However, a potential explanation came to light after sometime.

The former Real Madrid star was walking through Lyon with his teammates when he was questioned by a reporter from the Portuguese news outlet CMTV.

Before throwing his equipment into the lake, Ronaldo brushed off the reporter’s inquiry, earning the forward international attention.

But it has subsequently come to light that Ronaldo and CMTV have a history of animosity because they have repeatedly covered topics about his personal and family life over the years.

Additionally, it was revealed that Ronaldo had previously declined to speak with the 24-hour news network and had failed to record a goal in two Euro games.

In an interview with the BBC, the concerned journalist, Diogo Torres, asserts that Ronaldo’s reaction was caused by the two parties’ tense relationship.

“I asked Ronaldo if he was prepared for the match,” Torres said. “He didn’t answer. He grabbed my mic and threw it into the lake.

“I’m not sure why he did it. I think it was a momentary thing. I think he would not have done it if he had thought about it.

“We are a TV channel of a major newspaper in Portugal. We produce a lot of news about him. Some of it he doesn’t like. Perhaps that’s why he did it. But it wasn’t a personal thing.

“I’ve not had an apology from Ronaldo or the team. We travelled to France on the same plane with the players and will fly back with them.”
