In 2022, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson said that his Premier League squad is known as the ‘Pride of Cheshire,’ but not even the former WWE star knows who that is.

It’s either something to cheer for yourself or something to tease a rival club for, and seeing one of them in the audience, generally in the luxury seats, is always a surprise.

Of course, the ultimate brag would be if the Rock backed your team, and we now know who the wrestler-turned-actor supports in England’s top flight or sort of.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, a WWE great and Hollywood star revealed that he is a Liverpool fan. He had previously expressed his love for Macclesfield FC, and his switch to the Reds has perplexed fans.

The Rock was asked by talkSPORT whose football team he supports at a recent promotional event for his ‘then’ forthcoming film ‘Black Adam’ in England. He responded (via the Liverpool Echo):

“Do I support a team? Yes. The pride of Cheshire.”

When the reporter asked: “Liverpool?”

The WWE legend replied: “Yes, Liverpool.”

For starters, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are not located in Cheshire, making it difficult to say that they are the “pride of Cheshire.”

Which Other Celebrities Support Liverpool?

The Rock is not the first star to join the Reds’ supporters, as the team is supported by some of the world’s most famous people.

One of them is NBA legend LeBron James, who is now a partner and shareholder in the club’s owners, Fenway Sports Group.

Daniel Craig, the man who personified James Bond, is a huge Liverpool fan.

Angelina Jolie, Lana del Rey, Liam Neeson, and Samuel L. Jackson were also on the list.

Meanwhile, Dua Lipa’s song ‘One Kiss’ has become something of a Reds anthem. This has been the case since she performed it during the opening ceremony of their 2019 UEFA Champions League win.
