Roland Garros or French Open is the second grand slam on the tennis calendar. It is played on clay courts in the summer season. It was first introduced in 1968 and to date, it has given some of the best memories in tennis. #5 Monica Seles Vs Steffi Graf (1992)

Two of the finest tennis players, Seles and Steffi Graf met each other in 1992 Roland Garros. The first set of the match was won by Monica Seles but in the second set Steffi Graf made a comeback and the match went to the third one. Monica sealed the victory by winning the third set by 10-8. Seles was the favourite to win that tournament and Graf was the second favourite.

#4 Chris Evert Vs Martina Navratilova (1985)

Another two of the greatest women tennis players, Chris Evert and Martin Navratilova played against each other in the 1985 French Open. Match was won by Evert by 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 7-5. She also won the 7th French Open title of his career. Martina was a very strong player at that time and it was an unacceptable defeat for her but it was Evert who defeated her.

#3 Rafael Nadal Vs Roger Federer (2005)

Two of the modern-day greats, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal who is also now the most successful singles tennis player met each other in the 2005 French Open semi-final. Rafael Nadal is known as the king of clay and he is considered the best player ever to play on the clay courts of Roland Garros. It was this semi-final match that introduced Nadal to the World and set the stage for one of the best players of all time.

There is no other siblings rivalry better than the Williams sisters in tennis. In the 2002 French Open final both Serena and Venus met each other. Serena won the match by 7-5, 6-3. Venus was more favourite than Serena to win the title but it was their younger sister Serena who won the title. The match between Bjorn Borg and Manuel Orantes has to be the greatest in French Open’s history as Bjorn Borg after losing the first two sets of the finals made an incredible comeback in the next three sets and won the first title of his career. It was amazing how Borg after losing the first two sets made a huge comeback and defeated Spain’s player Manuel Orantes. Borg won the match by 2-6, 6-7, 6-0, 6-1, 6-1.
