5. 169 – By Sachin Tendulkar

In the 1997 tour of South Africa at Cape Town, Sachin was leading the Indian team. South Africa while batting first scored a gigantic target of 529 runs of 7 wickets and they declared the innings. Then came the batting of the Indian team and Sachin scored 169 runs knock off 254 balls. this knock from Sachin’s bat came when half of the Indian team went to the pavilion on 58.

4. 148 and 81 – By Rahul Dravid

In the 1996-97 tour of South Africa in the third Test at Johannesburg. Rahul Dravid scored his maiden test hundred while batting at No.3 for India. Rahul Dravid scored 148 runs in the first innings in 362 balls. He also scored 81 runs in the second inning of that same test match. Rahul’s innings went into vain as South Africa managed to draw the game.

3. 153 – By Cheteshwar Pujara

In 2013 in the Johannesburg test, in the second innings of India whole playing at No.3, Pujara scored 153 runs knock against one of the best bowling attacks in the world at that time. 153 runs knock from Pujara is one of the best in his career. He faced 270 balls and led India to a huge target of 458 runs. However, his innings went into vain and South Africa managed to draw the game.

2. 119 and 96 – By Virat Kohli

In 2013 at Johannesburg, while batting first India’s star player Virat Kohli scored a century of 119 runs in 181 balls. In the second innings of that same test match, Kohli again scored a brilliant 96 runs knock in 193 balls. It was the same match where Pujara and Kohli’s partnership helped India to score 327 runs in the second innings, but South Africa managed to draw the game.

1. 38 and 96 – By VVS Laxman

In 2010 at the Durban test VVS Laxman scored 96 runs in the second innings of India it was one of the best knocks which helped India to register one of the great overseas victories. Laxman also scored 38 in his first innings which was the highest among Indian batters. But his 96 runs off 171 balls helped India. This knock from him came under a very high-pressure situation.
