Marquee players are those first ten players who appeared at the very first round of the 2022 mega auction of IPL. They all were of the base price of 2 crore rupees and every team tried their best to get at least one in their team. in this article we will see 5 most expensive marquee players sold in IPL 2022 auction.

#1 Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas Iyer was the first player of the 2022 auction who went over the price of 10 crores. He was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for 12.25 crore rupees. The bid was started from a 2-crore base price but KKR badly needs a captain and they showed their interest in former Delhi captain and the best choice middle-order batsmen, Shreyas Iyer.  

#2 Kagiso Rabada

Kagiso Rabada is one of the best limited-overs bowlers in the world right now and will the fans be shocked after Delhi did not retain him but Rabada’s destiny took him to the Punjab Kings for 9.25 crore rupees. Former Delhi player Rabada will now play for Punjab. Delhi also tried very hard to get back to him but Punjab won the game.

#3 Shikhar Dhawan

Shikhar Dhawan was expected to do well and he was the one who started the auction he went to Punjab Kings for 8.25 crore rupees. A very nice move by Punjab as Shikhar is one of the best and he is an Indian too who can score many runs for them.

#4 Trent Boult

Rajasthan was struggling with their bowling in the past few seasons and when the very first bowler of the marquee list came. they just jumped over him but it was Rabada and they can’t get him but then came left-arm fast bowler Trent Boult who has a lot of experience to play in the Ipl and he went to Rajasthan Royals for 8 crore rupees.

#5 Pat Cummins

It was an absolute delight for Kolkata to get back Pat Cummins in their team. After getting him for 15.50 crore rupees in 2020 KKR released him before the mega auction but they again got him back with an almost 50% pay cut. Pat Cummins went to KKR for just 7.25 core rupees.
