On 22 December 2017, Sri Lanka visited India and in the second T20I in Indore, India batted first. Rohit made the century in just 35 balls which is still a world record for the fastest century in T20Is. David Miller of South Africa also has a century in 35 balls. Rohit player an innings of 118 runs off 43 balls. He smashed 12 fours and 10 sixes with a strike rate of 274.41.

On Sri Lanka tour of India in 1986 in the first Test at Kanpur. Sri Lanka batted first and made 420 in the first innings. India made 676 in the first innings of their batting. The match was drawn and the man of the match was given to Sunil Gavaskar for his 176 runs innings. But the highlights of the match were drawn by Kapil Dev for his remarkable knock of 163 runs in 165 balls. Kapil Dev completed his hundred in just 74 balls in test cricket which is still the fastest hundred by an Indian in test cricket. Kapil Dev smashed 19 fours and 1 six with a strike rate of 98.78.
