Sports Desk – The 17 match of the ICC World Cup 2019 was played between Australia and Pakistan at The Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton. In this match Australia beat Pakistan by 41 runs. Pakistan Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed won the toss and opted to field. Opener David Warner’s 111 and his 107-run opening stand with Aaron Finch laid the foundation for Australia posting 307. but Mohammad Amir (5/30) staged a his best ODI bowling figures.

Pakistan’s innings ended at 266 in 45.4 overs overs but not before the duo of Sarfaraz Ahmed and Wahab Riaz gave the Australians a scare with a rearguard action that revived their hopes for a while. Riaz smashed 45 off 39 balls with two fours and three sixes, while Sarfaraz made 40 off 48. Imam-ul-Haq (53) scored the highest runs from Pakistan.
