IPL 2020: Mitchell Starc and Joe Root opt-out of league

Sports Desk – Australian Pacer Mitchell Starc has been out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. Mitchell Starc has distanced itself from the auction to be held in Kolkata on 19 December. Let me tell you, the auction for IPL 2020 will be held in Kolkata on December 19.

The 29-year-old Starc was last seen playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2015. In the 2018 IPL auction, the left-arm pacer was bid by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for Rs 9.4 crore but was ruled out of the tournament due to injury.

Mitchell Starc on the other has opted out from the IPL for the second successive season. Starc finished the 2019 World Cup in England and Wales as the highest wicket-taker and also spearheaded Pakistan’s collapse in the recently concluded Test series Down Under. England captain Joe Root also dropped out of the next edition of IPL 2020.
