IPL teams have reached UAE. All the players will remain in the Quarantine for a few days, after which all the players will take the field for practice.
Sports Desk – The eight IPL franchises have ferried majority of their players to UAE and they will kick off the training sessions later this week. All the players and officials have also undergone one round of testing for COVID-19.
The first match of IPL 2020 will be played on 19 September. However, the full schedule has not been released by the BCCI yet. But it is believed that the first match of the IPL will be between last year’s champion team Mumbai Indians (MI vs CSK) and last year’s runners-up team Chennai Super Kings.
It is believed that the IPL schedule has been given by the BCCI to the IPL franchisees, but an official announcement has not been made yet. A big reason for this was the change of schedule from some teams.
Actually, there was news recently that the ODI and T20 series will be played between England and Australia in September itself, whose last match will be on 16 September. Three days later, the first match of the IPL is to be held on September 19. Many legendary players from Australia and England play in the IPL. All teams include players from these teams.
Earlier it was believed that if the players of Australia and England reach UAE on 17 or 18 September, then they will have to stay in Quarantine for six days and only then they will be able to play the match, but now BCCI has revealed that these Players do not have to live in Quarantine
so it’s necessary to work on the possibility of keeping a schedule flexible enough where matches can be brought forward and delayed, as and when necessary.
