One of the two new franchises which will play in IPL 2022 is Gujarat Titans. Gujarat made 23 players squad for IPL 2023 in which 3 players they picked from the draft and the rest 20 they picked from the auction. Hardik Pandya will be their captain who was picked by Gujarat from the draft in 15 crore rupees. The other two players were Rashid Khan and Shubham Gill. So, in this article, we will see the best possible playing 11 of Gujarat Titans.

Top order

  • Shubham Gill – Shubham Gill was picked by Gujarat from the draft in 8 Crores. He is a decent opening batsman who in previous seasons played for KKR where he looked quite good. Shubham Gill has scored 1417 runs in 58 matches in IPL.
  • Jason Roy – England’s explosive opening batsman Jason Roy came to Gujarat Titans in just 2 crores at base price. It was a steal by Gujarat to get a player like him in 2 crores. He has only played 13 IPL matches in which he has scored 329 runs.
  • Matthew Wade (wicketkeeper) – at No.3 they got no other option than Matthew Wade of Australia who we all know is an explosive batsman. Wade will also be the wicketkeeper of our playing 11.

Middle-order

  • Vijay Shankar – Gujarat Titans bought Indian all-rounder Vijay Shankar in 1.4 Crores. Shankar is a middle-order batsman who can play big shorts and can also give 2-3 overs in between. He has scored 557 runs in 33 IPL matches. He also has 2 wickets.
  • Abhinav Manohar – Abhinav Manohar will make his IPL debut for Gujarat Titans and No.5 will be the perfect position for him to bat. Manohar has done well in list A cricket of India.
  • Hardik Pandya (captain) – at No.6 Hardik Pandya the captain himself will be a perfect choice as he can do that finishing work with his power-hitting in death overs. It is not confirmed yet that he will bowl or not but if he will then he will also be in the all-rounder’s category. He has played 92 matches in IPL and scored 1476 runs. He also has 42 wickets.
  • Rahul Tewatia – at No.7 it will be Rahul Tewatia ok whom Gujarat Titans spend 9 Crores which is a huge amount for an uncapped player. He is also an X factor kind of player who can contribute to all three departments. In 48 matches he has scored 521 runs and took 32 wickets.

Bowlers

  • Rashid Khan – spin wizard Rashid Khan was one of the three-player who was retained by Gujarat Titans. Gujarat retained him in 15 Crores. Rashid Khan is the best T20I bowler at present in the world. He can also contribute with the bat. Rashid Khan has 93 wickets in 76 matches in IPL. He is also a very economical bowler.
  • R Sai Kishore – R Sai Kishore was part of Chennai Super Kings in previous seasons but he did not get a chance to play this time it looks like he will play in the first starting 11 of Gujarat Titans. He was bought by Gujarat Titans in 3 Crores.
  • Mohammad Shami – it was the best buy of Gujarat Titans in the mega auction as Mohammad Shami is a world-class bowler who can bowl in any phase of the game. Gujarat bought him in only 6.25 Crores which is of course a very less amount for a player like him. He has 79 wickets in 79 matches in IPL.
  • Lockie Ferguson – Lockie Ferguson was the most expensive buy of Gujarat Titans from the mega auction and by that buy Gujarat’s pace attack looks very stable. Ferguson can bowl with good speed and most importantly he is a wicket-taking bowler. He has 24 wickets in 22 matches in IPL.
