Kieron Pollard became first player in the world to play 500 T20 matches

Sports Desk- West Indies captain Kieron Pollard made history as he landed in the first T20 match against Sri Lanka on Wednesday. He has become the first player to play 500 matches in the history of T20 cricket.

While fellow Trinidadian Dwayne Bravo comes second with 454 T20 appearances, ‘Universe Boss’ Chris Gayle occupies the third spot with 404 T20 matches to his name. West Indies cricket tweet congratulating Pollard for this special achievement. Huge congrats to Captain Kieron Pollard on his 500th T20 today! What an achievement!’

All-rounder Pollard, who made his T20 debut in July 2006, is the only cricketer to score more than 7,000 runs and 250 wickets in the shortest format of the game. Pollard, who has played for several teams in various T20 leagues around the world over the years.

West Indies won the match by 25 runs. Earlier, Sri Lanka made a clean sweep of West Indies 3–0 in a three-match one-day series.
