Sports Desk – So far, 12 seasons of IPL are over and each time something different is seen. Every time new records are created and broken. But there is a record in IPL history that hardly any player can break. He is the first ball to take a wicket by the wicketkeeper-batsman. This is the most unique record in IPL history.

This record is named after Australia’s great wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist. Who bowled the same ball of his IPL career and got a wicket on him. He did this feat in the 2013 IPL season.

The match was being played between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab in Punjab on 18 May 2013, with Kings XI Punjab scoring 183 for 8 wickets in 20 overs, batting first, with Azhar Mehmood leading the way with 80 runs.

Mumbai Indians started off chasing Punjab’s target and the first wicket fell to zero runs in the first over. After this, Kings XI kept their grip strong and Mumbai wickets kept falling. In the meantime, Harbhajan Singh and Lasith Malinga were finally batting. This was the last pair of Mumbai. The last over of the match was brought by team captain Adam Gilchrist. This was the first time Gilchrist came to bowl in the IPL.

Batting on the strike, Harbhajan Singh wanted to take advantage of Gilchrist’s ball and played a shot in the strait. The ball went straight into the hands of fielding Gurkeerat Singh. At the same time, Gilchrist started dancing in Gangnam style. This match was won by Punjab by 50 runs. In this way, in the history of IPL, Adam Gilchrist is the only player who bowled just one ball and took a wicket on the same.
