Punjab Kings middle-order batsman Shashank Singh is one of the most successful uncapped players in IPL 2024. With a World Cup in June, BCCI is yet to announce the squad of the Indian team. In this article we will tell you if Shashank Singh can play in that World Cup or not.

In the IPL 2024 auction, Punjab Kings made a blunder when they saw that they had picked the wrong Shashank in their team. At first, they wanted to have Shashank of West Bengal but they brought Shashank Singh instead of him but it looks like their mistake is no more a mistake as Shashank is delivering for them in every pressure match and situation.

Ye consistently helps the Punjab Kings win games from hard situations. He won the game against Gujarat Titans single-handedly, he was brilliant in the historic tum chase against Kolkata Knight Riders, and he is pairing up with another uncapped Indian Ashutosh Sharma to give his team the finish they wanted. 32-year-old Shashank Singh is showing why he can knock on the selectors’ doors. He also resembles Surya Kumar Yadav in his style of playing.

Now the question is if he can make it into the squad or not and to be honest it looks difficult as only IPL can never be the criteria for the selection. Shashank is still inexperienced in international cricket and before including in the World Cup squad BCCI should groom him in different bilateral series.

Another reason why he can miss out is the competition he had as there are plenty of finishers available in front of selectors like Rinku Singh, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, etc.
