Alexis Sanchez’ goal saves Chile after Leo Messi’s converted penalty

Chile played a 1-1 draw with Argentina in a crucial 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier match. Alexis Sanchez came out to be a savior for his nation.

Leo Messi converted a penalty in 26th minute but Alexis Sanchez scored a header in 36th minute. It was worth a goal for Chile as they are not even in top 5 of the points table.

Messi gave a tribute to Diego Maradona during the whole match and before the game, Argentina unveiled a statue of Diego following his death last year.

Days later after Diego’s death, Messi paid his respects by celebrating a goal for Barcelona. He wore the shirt of Argentine club Newells Old Boys, where the 1986 World Cup winner had also played.

Argentina is at second place with 11 points, just a point behind Brazil (12). Chile is sitting at 7th spot with only 5 credits.
