Despite being constantly connected with the top post at the Brazil national team, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti claimed he still has plenty of time to decide on his contract with the LaLiga club.

Ancelotti’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and ex-Brazilian FA (CBF) president Ednaldo Rodrigues has stated that the 64-year-old is the favoured choice to replace Tite, who departed following Brazil’s World Cup quarter-final elimination last year.

When asked if Real Madrid would give him a new contract as a Christmas present, Ancelotti said, “I already got my present, which was to stay here as the head coach of Real Madrid and that is the most important thing.

“As I said, we still have time to think about that (contract extension),” added the Italian, before Real Madrid’s home game against Villarreal.

“But in terms of presents, tomorrow my players could give me one by winning this match. The thing I want the most is to finish well this year by winning these two games left, so we can have a quiet Christmas.”

Throughout its history, the Santiago Bernabeu has welcomed a plethora of generational talents. This season, however, only one name has resounded across every single matchday: Jude Bellingham.

If his recent appearance in Turin to get the prestigious Golden Boy award wasn’t proof enough of Bellingham’s magnificence, it should be. He has ascended to the top of world football right now and has become a point of reference for all to see and embrace.

Real Madrid has been plagued with injuries, but new addition Jude Bellingham has guaranteed that Los Blancos remain at their best.

The English youngster has 15 goals in 17 appearances for Real Madrid, including a late victory against Barcelona in El Clasico.

And, for those who haven’t noticed, Bellingham did it all as a midfielder, leading Real Madrid from the frontlines as the unspoken yet undeniable leader of the new group.

Real Madrid, who are now second in LaLiga, will try to leapfrog Girona with a win over 14th-placed Villarreal later on Sunday.
