Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, and Nicolas Jackson all desired to kick the penalty that gave Chelsea the victory over Everton in the second half.

Cole Palmer took the fall for the penalty that Chelsea gained against Everton on the hour after Nicolas Jackson and Noni Madueke were seen shouting with one another. This led to a major brawl.

At first, the ball was scooped up by the former PSV Eindhoven winger to take the spot-kick. Visibly enraged, the Blues striker attempted to take the ball from his colleague.

Palmer finally showed up and got the ball, but not before Madueke repeatedly shrugged off Jackson.

The England Under-21 player first didn’t appear to be happy, but once Conor Gallagher intervened, he accepted the handover while the former Villarreal forward persisted in arguing that he ought to receive the kick.

Nevertheless, Jamie Carragher and Dele Alli discussed Palmer’s hat-trick on Sky Sports during halftime. The former defender for Liverpool stated: “This lad has been sensational all season. He’s been one of the best players in the Premier League this season. I know it has been a tough season for Chelsea.

“Everton were being really aggressive and trying to press really high and they had joy early on, but it also caused them problems because when Chelsea beat the press as they do here, they found space with Cole Palmer between the lines.

“He megs [Jarrad] Branthwaite, plays a little one-two with his partner Jackson, and he just opens his foot up and finds that far corner. When you are talking about class and composure, I mean this is brilliant.

“You can always pick holes in goals defensively, but this for me is absolutely sensational for one of the best players in the Premier League.”
