Lionel Messi has finally won the FIFA World Cup 2022, the one honour that had escaped him during his remarkable career. In a thrilling penalty shootout, Argentina defeated France, and Messi made history with the victory. India, especially the people of Kerala, gave Messi and his team tremendous support during the competition
It appears that Messi and the Argentina team may visit Kerala in the second half of 2025. At a gathering in Kozhikode, Kerala’s sports minister V. Abdurahiman declared that Messi would be in the state for seven days, from October 25 to November 2. Messi is anticipated to engage with his Keralan followers for 20 minutes on a public stage in addition to a friendly game.
Is there a change in dates?
The sports minister’s stated dates do not coincide with FIFA’s official international break windows, raising questions regarding this declaration. The minister’s assertion regarding October 25 to November 2 may not be true, as the FIFA windows for that time frame are October 6–14 to November 10–18.
Messi, who is currently in the MLS with Inter Miami, is nearing the end of his playing days. Messi has won eight Ballon d’Or trophies and has been voted FIFA Best Player eight times during his remarkable football career.
With 45 team trophies, including twelve league crowns, four Champions Leagues, two Copa América titles, and, of course, the World Cup, he is the most decorated player in football history.

Messi also has the most goals, hat-tricks (36), and assists (192) in La Liga history, as well as the most European Golden Shoes (6) and goals for a single club (672 with Barcelona). He continues to be the most-capped player and greatest scorer in Argentina’s history.
Despite finishing as runners-up in all three competitions, Messi guided Argentina to three finals on the international scene: the 2014 World Cup, the 2015 Copa América, and the Copa América Centenario.
