Cristiano Ronaldo has been offered a return to England in the Premier League

Former Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo is said to have received an offer from Saudi Arabia to return to the Premier League and European football. According to El Nacional, the Al-Nassr star has been advised that he can join Newcastle United in 2024.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract with Manchester United was terminated in November 2022 due to irreconcilable issues with manager Erik ten Hag. After the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the veteran forward joined Saudi heavyweights Al-Nassr in January 2023.

Since his arrival in Saudi Arabia, the 38-year-old has continued to roll back the years, scoring 24 goals in 24 matches in the Saudi Pro League. His league performances have piqued the interest of the club’s owners, who have purportedly offered him a return to Europe.

Cristiano Ronaldo has apparently been offered a move to English club Newcastle United, which is controlled by Al-Nassr’s owners. The forward has reportedly been resistant to the concept so far, but will likely examine it in the coming weeks.

After paying big on Sandro Tonali in the summer, the Magpies are looking to bolster their team with some superstar acquisitions. Their 4-1 victory over PSG in the UEFA Champions League would have given them a significant confidence boost.

Cristiano Ronaldo Not Ready To Return To Europe

While Cristiano Ronaldo has continued to control the Saudi Pro League as his personal fiefdom, the Portuguese legend believes he is deserving of more competition.

Despite the influx of a large number of elite European talent into the country, he will feel the need for a more difficult test.

Ronaldo appears to have closed the door on a comeback to Europe since leaving Manchester United, preferring to complete his career in Saudi Arabia.

Despite transferring to Al-Nassr, the forward has won nearly everything there is to win in Europe and is still called up to the Portuguese national team.

Newcastle United, incidentally, were the team against which Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice on his second Manchester United debut in 2021.

They are a prestigious English football club with ambitious owners that have expressed interest in signing great players, including Vinicius Junior, according to reports.

Ronaldo’s move to the Magpies may not be imminent, but the issue is one to keep an eye on. The Portuguese star is highly competitive and may decide to return to England in January ahead of the Euros next year.
