Cristiano Ronaldo was “snubbed” by Florentino Perez when he named Real Madrid’s century-long transfer.

In the summer of 2009, Ronaldo left Manchester United to join the La Liga powerhouses for a reported £80 million.

Additionally, he had an exceptionally fruitful and trophy-filled tenure at the storied Bernabeu, where he won two league championships and an astounding four Champions League.

With an incredible 450 goals in 438 games, he excelled while wearing Real Madrid’s renowned white jersey. Even after his amazing goal-scoring run in Spain, Perez chose a different man to be the club’s acquisition of the century.

According to the player’s agent, Toni Kroos deserves such distinction.

Speaking about Perez, Volke Struth said: “He is an unbelievably pleasant person with a great life story.

“He is entrepreneurial but remains human. He explained to me why Toni Kroos is Real Madrid’s transfer of the century.”

After leaving Bayern Munich in 2014, Kroos, now 34, turned down Manchester United to join Real Madrid. With Los Blancos, he has made an outstanding 449 appearances and has won three league crowns and four Champions Leagues.

The fact that Kroos is still with the team and is still a fantastic midfield player is evidence of his durability and Real legacy. Under Carlo Ancelotti, he has participated in 32 games across all competitions this season and continues to be a key player.

Gonzalo Villar, a player for Granada, praised Kroos’ move to Real Madrid for the second time, referring to the seasoned German as “one of the five best midfielders in history.”

“For me, Kroos is one of the five best midfielders in history,” he said, “I am still below him. But he is a great player for me.”
