Lionel Messi’s worst start to a league season in 16 years continues
It hurts to watch Lionel Messi suffering through a horrible times. He is arguably one of the greatest to ever graced the football pitch, but it seems his performance his degrading with age.
The 34-year-old is yet to score a league goal for PSG and he was substituted against LOSC at the half time.
This could be the first season since his early days that he won’t be competing for European Golden Boot.
In August 2021, Messi left Barcelona in an unexpected transfer to join PSG. He was reunited with his best friend Neymar but is still having a terrible season.
Although he was a little bit injured before the game, he went on to give his 100% for the team.
Barcelona, on the other side, are also suffering through the same problem. They are 9th on the La Liga point table and they are still not able to find a perfect replacement of the GOAT.
The last time Barca won a trophy, Messi was playing for them. He helped the club to win the Copa Del Rey last season.
He also won the Copa America 2021 with Argentina this year, having lifted his first ever international trophy.
