Manchester United are set to sign Wout Weghorst after his amazing performance at the World Cup

The 2022 FIFA World Cup quarter-finals gave us some of the best games in tournament’s history. Argentina were really in a critical situation when Wout Weghorst scored two for Netherlands in the World Cup quarter-final.

Argentina were having an amazing performance until Wout Weghorst’s arrival on the ground. He substituted Memphis Depay in 78th minute and scored the first goal for Netherlands with his head just after five minutes into the game.

Wout scored the equalizer in the additional time (90+11′) to make it 2-2 that created absolute scenes in the stadium. That goal must have given chills to every Argentina supporter but in the end, Lionel Messi’s boys won the penalty shootout.

Manchester Untied are set to sign Wout Weghorst after his amazing performance in the whole tournament. United will pay €3 million to Besiktas to terminate the loan, then will sign Weghorst on a new loan from Burnley.

After all the paperwork, The Dutchman will undergo medicals at the Old Trafford.

Man United needed a striker after Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from the club and Weghorst was one of the cheapest and effective options for them.

Manchester United will face Manchester City on 14th January but Weghorst must be registered for at least 24 hours to be eligible to play in the league games. This would mean he has to be registered and the signing has to be completed by 12:30 pm on Thursday.
