PSG confirmed that Mauricio Pochettino is their new head coach after sacking Thomas Tuchel

In 2001, Paris Saint Germain (PSG) signed Mauricio Pochettino as a center-back (defender). He played for 3 seasons and scored 6 goals in 95 appearances.

Now after 20 years ,in 2021, PSG signed Pochettino as their new head coach. Pochettino has served for Tottenham before sacking him and signing Jose Mourinho in 2020.

“I return to the club today with a lot of ambition and humility, and am eager to work with some of the world’s most talented players,” said Pochettino. He also said that he would do his best “to give our team the combative and attacking playing identity that Parisian fans have always loved.”

His main focus will be on UEFA Champions League. PSG were the runners-up in 2019-20 UCL season. His first major test will be against Barcelona in UCL round-of-16 in February. However, Pochettino will take charge of his first match next Saturday at Saint-Etienne as Ligue 1 resumes after the winter break with PSG one point off the leaders in third.
