Romelu Lukaku once said he will play for Chelsea one day

An old footage of a young Romelu Lukaku visiting Stamford Bridge has reemerged on social media this week. The video shows that he had once claimed about his dream of playing for Chelsea.

Chelsea recently re-signed the 28 year old after his departure for £97.5 million from Inter Milan. They clearly have an intention to boost their attacking lineup.

The Belgian forward spent two wonderful years with Inter Milan. He scored many goals and helped bring the Serie A back to Milan.

However, the footage in which Lukaku can be seen admiring Chelsea ia going viral on social media. He can be seen wearing Didier Drogba’s jersey whilst staring at the Stamford Bridge pitch.

In the video, he said: “I have to sit alone here, I have to enjoy this moment on my own.

“One day I’ll play here, you’ll see. The day I play here is the only day you’ll see me cry at home. Other than that, never. Only when I play here.”

During Lukaku’s first spell for Chelsea, he was only able to make 15 appearances. He spent vast amounts of time on loan at West Bromwich Albion and Everton.

Many Chelsea fans are now saying that his signing can help challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title.
