The question social media personality iShowSpeed posed to Ronaldo Nazario has left fans speechless.

The YouTuber, who has grown to be a huge fan of Cristiano Ronaldo, has recently been in touch with a lot of well-known football players.

However, they don’t come much bigger than two-time Ballon d’Or winner and all-around great striker Ronaldo. Although the Brazilian is as well-known as they come to football fans, Speed—real name Darren Watkins—wasn’t overly acquainted with ‘R9’.

He even asked the former player for Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Inter Milan if he was the father of Ronaldo, the man who bears his name.

He asked: “You got the same name as Ronaldo, are you Ronaldo’s dad?”

Ronaldo, as expected, was completely and utterly confused by the question and replied: “What do you mean? I’m Ronaldo, the first Ronaldo.”

But Speed didn’t slow down, as he continued: “Exactly, you’re the first Ronaldo so are you Ronaldo’s dad?”

For a particular generation, the 47-year-old is popularly regarded as the “real Ronaldo” or “the original Ronaldo.” They only ever met on the field once, at a charity match hosted by Real Madrid and Portugal veteran Luis Figo.

It was held in front of 25,000 supporters at the Algarve Stadium in 2005 and raised funds for the Luis Figo Foundation and the Ronald McDonald House Charity.

‘O Fenomeno’ was on the same team as Figo, but Ronaldo was on the other team.

Ronaldo, who is older and more experienced, scored twice in a 2-1 victory. Kaka, the 2007 Ballon d’Or winner, acknowledged that the original Ronaldo was better than the sequel.

He told SPORTbible: “Brazilian Ronaldo was the best player I ever played with. The things I saw that guy do on the field was amazing. Ronaldo was the best I played with, but what Cristiano did – and is doing – is just unreal.

“The most important thing for me about Cristiano is the way he can motivate himself after all the achievements he has got.”
