Sergio Aguero is trying to leave Barcelona following Messi’s exit
In August 2021, Barcelona signed Sergio Aguero from Manchester City in order to persuade Lionel Messi to stay at the club.
However, It has been reported that the striker wants to leave the club following his international teammate’s exit. Let us remind you that Messi has left Barcelona.
The Argentine has asked his lawyers to look at whether it is possible to cancel his recently-signed two-year contract over the next few days.
Messi is so close to joining PSG on a fresh three-year contract at the Parc Des Princes. Following this move, it seems Aguero has had a change of heart and is already looking to leave the Camp Nou.
After joining Barca, Aguero cleared his intentions with the club and said to win trophies in the next season but it seems that he just wanted to do it with his best friend.
Aguero took a considerable pay cut to just $5.9mn a year to join the cause. He may never fulfill his wish to play alongside Messi at club level.
The two best friends won their first international major trophy (Copa America) together with Argentina in Brazil last month.
