We all know how talented Marco Asensio is and he has been one of the best wingers in the world since his debut for Real Madrid. But most of the people don’t know how he reached these limits in his career.

As Asensio said, Real Madrid has always been his club of dreams and he is very attached to them ever since he was a child. He also revealed how his mother helped him become a Real Madrid superstar.

When no one was even interested in signing the young Asensio, his mom was the one who took the first step for the betterment of his future.

This is what Marco revealed about how his mother managed to help him sign one of the greatest clubs of all time.

“I was out with my family and we went for a walk by the port and there was Florentino Pérez’s boat. My mum recognised him from afar. We immediately ran to him. She pleaded with him so we could take a photo and she told him that I was going to be a Real Madrid player one day. One of life’s coincidences, that’s what happened and Florentino Perez still remembers that beautiful anecdote as well”.

It’s almost like Asensio was destined to be a Los Blancos. Of course Florentino Perez signed the a rising superstar who was just passionate to be a world class footballer.

In December 2014, Real Madrid signed Asensio and a Mallorcan youth academy player completed his dream. On August 4, 2015, he made his debut in a friendly match against Tottenham Hotspur in the Audi Cup.

He also revealed about the moment when Real Madrid contacted him and how he felt at that time.

“In the winter, my agent came and told me he had a surprise. I said what? He said that Real Madrid was interested in me.

There were calls from several clubs at that time, and it was hectic for me to choose. But that day finally came.

Florentino phoned before a game to tell me I was finally going to be a Real Madrid player. It all happened in one day…

That same day: We all went to Madrid, I signed, visited the Bernabéu and Valdebebas and then we went back to Mallorca to finish off the season. It was all so quick and intense, but I felt an incredible joy”.

Marco Asensio has came out from being a ‘nobody to one of the most popular Spanish athletes’ in the world. He is truly an inspiration to many young players, not only in football but in every sport.
