The Player of the month award was introduced by ICC in January 2021 which selects the best player of that month. So far 12 players of the month have been announced of all the 12 months of 2021. In this article, we will see all the player of the month award winners in 2021.
2021 Month Award Winners
- In January player of the month award was given to Rishabh Pant for his remarkable Gabba victory contribution. Pant was outstanding in that month with bat and gloves.
- February player of the award was given to another Indian Ravichandran Ashwin. Ashwin bowled brilliantly in the home test series against England.
- Bhuvneshwar Kumar was named as the player of the month for March month. Bhuvneshwar’s balling in the T20I series against England was the reason for his selection.
- Babar Azam was named as the player of April. Babar enjoyed a great year as a captain and also as a player.
- May player of the month award was given to Mushfiqur Rahim of Bangladesh. The experienced wicketkeeper batsmen of Bangladesh was in decent form throughout this year.
- Devon Conway of New Zealand was named as the player of the month award winner of June for his century at lords in debut.
- The Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was named as July player of the month for his all-around performances in white-ball cricket.
- August player of the month was given to England test captain Joe Root who enjoyed every match of the august month with his brilliant centuries against India.
- Sandeep Lamichhane was the winner of the player of the month award of September month.
- Asif Ali of Pakistan was named as player of October month for his finishing performances in T20 cricket.
- In November David Warner was the winner of the player of the month. Warner was also the player of the tournament in the ICC T20 world cup. Warner was outstanding throughout the tournament and Australia won the world cup too.
- December player of the month was given to Ajaz Patel of New Zealand. Ajaz bowled amazingly well in the whole test series against India in India. Patel also took 10 wickets in a single inning as a test match. After which he became only the third player to do this.
