India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s father Kiran Pal Singh passed away at his Meerut residence on Thursday. The 63-year-old was undergoing chemotherapy for cancer and also had liver ailments but his condition deteriorated two weeks ago.

He had cancer last year. After which his chemotherapy was completed in Delhi and Noida. He was feeling well after chemotherapy, but his condition deteriorated again two weeks ago. He was admitted to a nearby hospital near Ganganagar. He was also treated at a hospital in Muzaffarnagar a few days after his condition remained stable.

The death of Bhuvneshwar’s father is a wave of mourning in the cricket world. Fellow players are paying tribute through social media.

Bhuvi, who is currently at home, was not picked for the England tour, which includes the World Test Championship final and a 5-match Test series against hosts England.
