IPL 2020 Updates – The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 season suffered a major setback on Friday when reports came that several Chennai Super Kings (CSK) members were found to be Covid-19 positive. A bowler and some CSK staff members of the franchise tested positive for COVID-19, after which the team’s quarantine period was extended.
The player who was found positive has been identified as fast bowler Deepak Chahar. But, CSK have suffered another blow as after Deepak Chahar, one more player from their camp has been tested positive for COVID-19. The name of this player is Ruturaj Gaekwad.
It also has to be noted that CSK was the only team of the eight franchises that held a camp in India before departing to UAE.
Chahar can return to training only after a 14-day quarantine period, following which he will have to test negative twice, 24 hours apart, before being permitted to re-enter the bio-secure zone.
CSK on Saturday confirmed that their vice-captain Suresh Raina has returned to India for personal reasons and will be unavailable for the remainder of the IPL season.
