T20 cricket is the fast-going cricket with various surprises and events. But when we talk about controversies it has a special place in cricket.

CPL is one of the most popular T20 league in world with stars all around world participate and sometimes things don’t go the way they should be and we get to see such kinds of controversies and heathen up moments.

1. Kieron Pollard’s No. Ball

During a match between Barbados Tridents and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots Pollard bowled a big no ball to deny Evin Lewis century. Barbados Tridents made a gave a target of 131 to St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. Openers of St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, Gayle and Evin Lewis played beautifully and take their team to victory but when 1 run is needed in last over and Evin Lewis was playing on 97 Pollard came to bowl and throws a big no ball which caused a big controversy from such senior player.

2. No CPL for Fabian Allen

In 2020 when whole world was struck around bio bubbles and quarantine. It was really very hard for players to get the things on time similar thing happened with St Kitts and Nevis Patriots player Fabian Allen where he missed his flight and missed the CPL 2020. It was a big lose to franchise as Allen was a good all rounder. But they did not replace him but still he was out of CPL 2020. This controversy is surely one of the funniest.

3. Gayle’s comments on Sarwan

Chris Gayle is surely the biggest T20 star cricket ever had but his career was surrounded by various controversies. One such was in CPL 2020 when Jamaican Tallawahs did not retain their biggest star Chris Gayle and Gayle when asked he pointed out Ramnaresh Sarwarn indirectly for his removal because earlier Gayle made a comment on Sarwan that “Sarwan is worst than corona virus” this made a huge controversy and west Indies board tried full to hide the controversy but they couldn’t.

4. Controversial umpiring

In the semi-final match between Trinbago Knight Riders and Jamaican Tallawahs all arounder Andre Russell was given out by the umpire Nigel Duguid. The thing which made the controversy was the decision of umpire was Controversial. When Jamaican Tallawahs were suffering from five wickets down. The allrounder Andre Russell came to bat who was in a good form. A ball hit Russel’s pad and went to slips fielding team make an appeal and Russell was given out and reason given for his put was catch, which made Russell to show his full emotions as it was the semi final match.

5. Sohail Tanvir and Ben Cutting

In CPL 2018 during a match between Guyana Amazon Warriors and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots Ben Cutting and Sohail Tanvir involved in an incident which took place in 17th over when Sohail Tanvir came to bowl and clinched the wicket of Ben Cutting but what happened after was shameful as Sohail showed double finger to Ben, which was not liked by cricket experts and cricket fans.

6. Gayle’s sexist comments

In a pre match presentation before CPL 2014 when Gayle was asked about his preparation for the tournament and also about the pitch by a female reporter. He replied “Well I Haven’t touched yours yet so I don’t know how it feels.” This caused the west Indies opener a big trouble as the female reporter asked for apology from Gayle but then CPL came in between and get things away by saying that Gayle was sharing a light moment and nothing more. But this incident caused Gayle into a controversy.

7. William’s notebook

In a match between Guyana Amazon Warriors and Jamaican Tallawahs in CPL 2017, Kesrick Williams who was a bowler of Jamaican Tallawahs shared a controversial moment with Chadwick Walton. Williams bowled a slower delievery to Walton and got his wicket and after that he came up with his celebration where he takes out an imaginary notebook and writes the name of batsmen which he dismissed and send off. But the things went totally upside down when the two teams met again where when Walton scored fours and sixes against Williams, he used his celebration against him and made his bat a notebook.

8. Lendl Simmons Vs Carlos Brathwaite

During 2019 CPL eliminator between Trinbago Knight Riders Vs St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. Carlos Brathwaite and Lendl Simmons gets involved in a banter. In 17th over Simmons and Ramdin started a mid-pitch chat in between the over. This thing did not comfort Braithwaite and he went to stumps and takes the bail off and appealed for a run out which caused Simmons to bounce back they both started walking towards each other but stopped in between by the umpire.

9. Indian in CPL

It is really a very strange thing for us to saw an Indian player playing in any overseas league but Pravin Tambe did so. It is a kind of rule for Indian players that if they want to participate in any overseas league, they need to take retirement from Indian cricket connection but Pravin Tambe played for Trinbago Knight Riders and also when he returned, he played for Mumbai Indians. When BCCI gave him a warning and asked him to take retirement, he did so but things got more worsened when KKR made their bid for Pravin Tambe in auction. That’s how Pravin Tambe became the first Indian to play in CPL and among the oldest players to play for Trinbago Knight Riders.

10. Rashid – Munro clash

It was one of the most controversial moment of CPL 2017 where the young Rashid Khan exchanged some word with New Zealand batsman colon Munro. In a match between Trinbago Knight Riders and Guyana Amazon Warriors Rashid was bowling to Munro where Munro tried to hit a reverse sweep and missed the shot. To counter that Rashid got into verbal communication with Munro and sledged him, in response Munro did not reply as he Don’t want to get in such situations. Munro focused on his batting and took his team to victory.
