#5 England Vs Australia – 1888

In 1888 when cricket was gaining it is popularity two top teams of that time, England and Australia played fifth shortest test matches where Australia won the game by 61 runs. Only 792 balls were bowled in that game.

#4 England Vs Australia – 1888

Above game of this series was played in Lords but this next game which is on No.4 on our list happened in Manchester. England won the game by an innings and 21 runs. Only 788 balls were bowled in that match which makes it fourth shortest test match ever.

In 1935 a test match was played between West Indies and England in Bridge Town. England emerged as the winners. They won the game by 4 wickets but more interestingly only 672 balls were bowled in that match which makes it third shortest game by balls in the history of test cricket.

Match ended before tea of second day and when it comes to balls only 642 balls were bowled in the game. It was shortest test match by balls.
