Bayern Munich Set To Sign Another English Star After Kane And Dier

It looks like Harry Kane has set off a trend in Germany, as Bayern Munich may recruit another England player this month, following Eric Dier.

Although most people wouldn’t be shocked to see a player of Kane’s caliber join Bayern, the move aroused some eyebrows because prominent England internationals usually stay in the Premier League.

English athletes are increasingly choosing to play overseas; Jude Bellingham and Jadon Sancho are two recent instances of English athletes who have found success overseas.

Similar to the contentious decision of Cristiano Ronaldo to Saudi Arabia, Kane’s move to Bayern has made it clear that others can follow in his footsteps.

Eric Dier left Spurs in January, and Bayern’s English contingent might expand even more, with another of Kane’s former Spurs teammates expected to join the German side.

According to talkSPORT, Newcastle defender Kieran Trippier is an unexpected target for the Bundesliga winners.

The article goes on to say: “Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel has put England right back Trippier at the top of their shopping list after missing out on Kyle Walker in the summer.”

Will Newcastle Retain Tripper?

Newcastle are allegedly prepared to listen to bids for the 33-year-old as they attempt to bring in some money amid FFP concerns.

The club’s choice may also be influenced by Tino Livramento, who was signed in the summer and is primarily a right-back but has shown impressive versatility this season.

Although Trippier was Newcastle’s first headline addition under their new Saudi ownership, he hasn’t exactly had the best season.

The English full-back was responsible for two goals in Everton’s 3-0 victory over Newcastle, and in their subsequent game, they faced Son Heung-min, who continued to be a bad player.

Despite having played 19 Premier League games this season, Trippier still contributes significantly offensively, with seven assists, second only to Mo Salah of Liverpool.
