Conor McGregor beats Ronaldo and Messi in Forbes highest paid Athletes list

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are no longer the highest paid athletes in the world. It’s Conor McGregor who tops the list according to Forbes.

Dak Prescott, LeBron James and Neymar are ranked fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively. Neymar is, however, the third most highest paid footballer (Messi and Ronaldo on 1st and 2nd respectively).

Following his achievement, Conor took it to his social media accouts and celebrated the victory by cutting a cake.

Messi finished behind McGregor with a astonishing £92.4m earnings, while Juventus superstar Ronaldo came third with £85.3m earnings.

According to Forbes, McGregor earned a whopping $180million in 2020 despite only stepping foot inside the octagon once.

McGregor sold his majority stake in the business for around $600million to the well-known tequila company Jose Cuervo. You can only imagine where McGregor will place on next year’s rich list.
