The German team for Euro 2024 will be entirely focused on competing well at home.
As the team gets ready for the competition on home soil, manager Julian Nagelsmann has revealed a preliminary 27-man roster, bringing the Germany Euro 2024 roster almost to full strength.
However, with four goalkeepers chosen, Nagelsmann will have to make the difficult choice to leave out just one of his goalkeepers before UEFA’s June 7 deadline for the final Euro 2024 squad submissions, which is seven days before their opening match against Scotland.
Importantly, neither Mats Hummels nor Leon Goretzka is on the Germany Euro 2024 roster; Naglesmann claims to have spoken with both players to try and explain his choice.
“I had long talk with both Hummels and Goretzka. They’re very disappointed as they’re out of the list,” Nagelsmann said. “I tried to explain why they weren’t included. It’s understandable that they are sad.”
In spite of this, Germany has many reasons to be enthusiastic about Euro 2024 as they hope to win the title of European Champions for the first time since 1996.

With forwards like Thomas Muller and Kai Havertz, midfielders Ilkay Gundogan, Jamal Musiala, and Florian Wirtz, and defenders Jonathan Tah and Antonio Rudiger, Germany enters Euro 2024 as favorites in addition to being the hosts with the support of their country.
The Germans are optimistic about making it to the knockout stages unharmed because their Euros group includes Hungary and Switzerland as well. This is especially true in light of their recent friendly victories against France and the Netherlands.
