Gareth Southgate has announced his final squad for UEFA Euro 2020
Gareth Southgate has named his final 26-man England squad for the upcoming UEFA Euro 2020 in June. He has sensationally included Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The 50 year old coach has excluded 7 players out of his 33-man provisional squad, which he announced this last week.
Those seven unlucky individuals are:
- Aaron Ramsdale
- Ben Godfrey
- Ben White
- James Ward-Prowse
- Jesse Lingard
- Ollie Watkins
- Mason Greenwood
England UEFA EURO 2020 Squad
Goalkeepers: Dean Henderson, Sam Johnstone, Jordan Pickford
Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ben Chilwell, Conor Coady, Reece James, Harry Maguire, Tyrone Mings, Luke Shaw, John Stones, Kieran Trippier, Kyle Walker
Midfielders: Jude Bellingham, Jordan Henderson, Mason Mount, Kalvin Phillips, Declan Rice
Forwards: Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka, Jadon Sancho, Raheem Sterling
Both Harry Maguire and Jordan Henderson have made it into the squad despite suffering continuous injuries for Manchester United and Liverpool respectively.
England will face Luka Modric’s Croatia in their first Group D fixture on June 13. Croatia were the ones who knocked ‘The Three Lions’ out of the 2018 World Cup.
Before starting their Euro campaign, England have two friendly/warm-up matches. One is against Austria on Wednesday and the other one is against Romania on Sunday.
