Domestic Career
He belonged to the cricket family since childhood. His father Willie Morris played First-Class cricket for Northern Transvaal. Chris Morris made his First-Class debut at the age of 22, but made a mark only a couple of seasons later: he finished 2011-12 as the leading wicket-taker in the domestic T20 competition, with 21 wicket.
That prompted the selectors to name him in the 15-man squad for South Africa’s unofficial T20 tri-series in Zimbabwe, which included Bangladesh as well. But made his debut later that year against New Zealand in Durban.
The following year, he was one of the most talked about players in the IPL auction. Morris was bought by the Chennai Super Kings for the tournament’s sixth season for INR 3.30 crore.
