Inter Milan are crowned as the Serie A champions

After Atalanta’s 1-1 draw with Sassuolo, Inter Milan are crowned as Serie A champions for the first time in 11 years.

Inter finished Juventus’ 9 season win streak since 2012. Juve was dominating the league since 2012, or we can say Juve dominated a decade.

“I’m astonished,” said Antoine Conte.

“We’re breaking up a dynasty. Not even in my wildest dreams could I have imagined that we’d make up this much ground on the team that dominated Serie A for nine years in the space of two seasons.

“This doesn’t mean we’re better than Juventus, they have a great squad; we’ve rolled our sleeves up and started doing some important work, trying to make ourselves credible.”

Inter is qualified for the 2021-22 UEFA Champions League. If Juve fails to win their game against Udinese, they will not qualify for the UCL as they are at 5th spot on the Serie A points table.

Conte was appointed Inter’s coach on May 31, 2019. His contract with the champions will expire next year. He really has changed Inter’s playing style.

“In coming here, I made the toughest decision,” he said.
